Originally from Syria, the Damask rose—also known as Rosa Damascena—is a flower that has been cultivated for thousands of years for its captivating scent. Over the centuries, it was cherished and grown by many civilizations across Europe and the Middle East.
Today, Damask roses are mainly cultivated in Bulgaria and Turkey. Bulgaria, in particular, is renowned for producing an essential oil of exceptional quality.
Growing this delicate flower requires both expertise and specific climate conditions. The harvest is done entirely by hand to protect the purity of the petals.
